Snowmass! The World's Greatest Family Ski Resort!
High and dry (humidity, that is) best describes why Snowmass is renowned for its "Champagne Snow." With an annual snowfall averaging over 300", and more than 57 trails designed with the recreational skier in mind, plus wonderful beginner slopes and extreme pitches which challenge the best, Snowmass is a true pleasure for all levels of skiers - from beginners to the most advanced.
You begin your day by skiing from accommodations to the lifts. Choose between a high speed detachable "six pack" chairlift carrying six persons from the base of Fanny Hill to the top of Sam's Knob with an intermediate on/off loading station at mid mountain or the Gondola from the base of Fanny Hill direct to Elk Camp. Any waiting is greatly reduced.
Snowmass boasts over 3,100 acres of skiing with over 4,400 vertical feet, making it one of the great ski mountains in North America. Hanging Valley and Campground will challenge the best while the famous Big Burn and Elk Camp will keep the intermediate busy. The renowned Snowmass Ski School has programs that will benefit everyone from beginners to mountain masters and accepts students from nursery age to seniors and includes one of the finest kids' daycare centers in the country, as well as a state-of-the-art ski race facility at the Spider Sabich Race Arena. Three additional ski mountains, Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands, and Aspen Mountain are all within 12 miles, and are connected by free bus service. Of course, your lift ticket is valid at them all.
Aspen/Snowmass, anywhere else this would be four separate vacations. It's not just one mountain - it's Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. With four choices and 5,303 acres, decide which mountain fits your passion. Snowmass, so many runs, so much variety - cruisers, steeps, glades, off-piste, terrain parks, superpipe and the longest lift-served vertical rise in the United States. Rising out of the heart of downtown Aspen and famous for its steeps, bumps and incredible views, Aspen Mountain and its double-black and tree runs are fun for skiers and snowboarders alike. Known as the locals' favorite mountain, Aspen Highlands features extreme terrain, groomed cruisers and breathtaking views of the Maroon Bells. For the ultimate ski/snowboarding experience, hike up and drop into Highland Bowl. Home of the ESPN Winter X Games through 2010 (for an unprecedented nine consecutive years!), Buttermilk also remains North America's best family learning center. While experts frolic in the X Superpipe and terrain park, the rest of the family can cruise on the wide, rolling trails. Aspen/Snowmass. Experience the Power of Four.
